Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes is a tactical strategy game. While it doesn't possess much in the way of story, Galaxy of Heroes does a great job of capturing the tone and personality of the Star Wars franchise. This free to play game draws deeply from the series' mythology, offering a cast of hundreds of characters culled from all the major films and many side projects like the Rebels TV series.

Gameplay is deceptively simple and draws from the gacha style collection mechanics to keep players pushing forward. Players are asked to create a team of ragtag Star Wars heroes and test their skills in battles that resemble simplified versions of traditional turn based roleplaying games. A series of single player missions are supplemented by other gameplay modes like player vs. player tournaments and extended endurance tests. There' a huge breadth of characters to collect, and the creative wealth of powers means that there's a lot of creativity when creating builds for your teams. Somewhat frustrating is the means of collecting new heroes, which requires the collection of shards and often relies on a large degree of luck. But once you get your hands on the heroes you want, there are a wide range of options for how to customize them.
